Premature, perhaps, but.

HYDRIOTAPHIA.
ENTIERRO DE LA URNA;
O, Un DISCURSO De las URNAS De SEPULCHRAL ENCONTRADO ÚLTIMAMENTE EN NORFOLK.
A mi amigo digno y honorado,
Thos.

Not quite right. I shall try again, in the morning.

Want to translate it to Spanish? Mexican here. I could help you with that if you wanna.

Can someone explain that to the programmer in the audience?

  3. Josh Lukin    Nov 5, 12:12 am    #
Kip, you are a genius. That is the best response I've seen to the defeat of the reality-based community. I'm hardly qualified to determine if it's Quevedian enough, but man, thanks for lifting my spirits.

Emma, why would Ray Davis need it explained to him? Or is "the programmer in the audience" someone else?

  4. Emma Humphries    Nov 5, 12:47 am    #
No, as you discovered later, the programmer in the audience is me.

Ray is the polymath, and I'm constantly surprised and pleased by his stuff.

    No harm, no foul.

I'm obsessed at the moment with the possibility that there are hijinks afoot in Ohio.

    "possibility" ?

Try certainty. I can't stand Kerry, and even I managed to figure that one out.

Thanks for the kitten pics, Kip.

Yeh, maybe so. Ohio, Florida, NM and/or NV seem to have been thoroughly hijinked on Tuesday and earlier. Avedon Carol's done a pretty good round-up of the horrors, citing Palast, Hartmann, M.C. Miller, et al. It's dismaying how many liberals I meet who refuse to believe that the vote may have been rigged --the concept is completely outside their frame-of-reference, if I may use that term loosely. Miller says it's outside Kerry's too, which fits my conception of JFK as a guy who in the past dozen years has become more invested in the Beltway doxa than he used to was been. The best we can hope for is what happened with the 1980 October surprise plot --a few dogged researchers uncovering the facts, which may never gain mainstream acceptance but will be there for the record.

Still, Emma, I hope you find a way to un-obsess. "Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. ... " and all a'that. Best wishes.

I hope I find a way too, come to think of it.
