Bill Mudron (who seems to have forgotten the relative difficulty of securing firearms in the Second-Amendment–less United Kingdom) pointed me to a post titled, “Mark Twain was still writing when Strom Thurmond was born” that then goes on to discuss male lactation and rounds off with a plea for sanity where Harry Potter is concerned. So how can one resist? —One can’t, when one’s will is so weak as to post a link to this. (Thanks, Mr. Humphries.)

If we're not having sanity in any other aspect of modern media, it seems unfair and discriminatory to ask for or expect sanity where Harry Potter is concerned.
THat would be Robyn Schroeder, my best friend at Wesleyan. She's a sharp cookie. You two would adore each other, not even funny-like.
Potter's good stuff; Narnias good stuff. Why compare? The hubbub is a bit daft, but really, it's nice to see kids getting excited about something that isn't just about buying and consuming.
