Sweating the small stuff.

It’s hardly surprising that nothing’s going according to plan (or is it?) when we can’t even get the uniforms right.

Military leaders insist that the shortage of desert BDUs will not affect the safety of American soldiers. They point out that Iraq’s terrain is not entirely Sahara-like, and that green camouflage may actually work better near the banks of the Euphrates River, where vegetation and mud are present.

Oh. Never mind, then.

    But we are getting an idea of who is next. From msnbc.com:

    Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said shipments of military equipment have been crossing into Iraq from neighboring Syria and said the United States would hold Syria’s government accountable for the “hostile acts.”


    Anybody with "Syria" in your office pool --- well, things are looking up for you.

    Time to dig out the bottle of Southern Comfort.
